ALDERMAN SMITH’S GREEN WEEK EVENTS – THROUGHOUT NEXT WEEK

Alderman Smith has pledged to make the 43rd ward the greenest in the city, and she and her staff have put together a full week of events to help residents be environmentally aware, and to showcase green products and initiatives. Events include a recycling drive, green homes tour, and more. Check out the full schedule of events at the 43rd Ward Green Team’s website here.

LINCOLN PARK FAMILY BIKE RIDE AND NATURE WALK – JUNE 30

Come join us at the first 43rd ward Family Bicycle Ride on Saturday, June 30! Arrive at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum at 8:30 am to check in, and we’ll set off as a group at 9:00 am on our group ride for three miles, riding slowly through the ward, ending back at the museum! This is a great way to show your support for safe and pleasant bicycling for all ages.

Then, at 10:00 am, you can join a free wildflower walk around the North Pond, led by the Lincoln Park Conservancy. In addition, you can visit the museum for only $4.30 admission for adults and $.43 for kids. Yes, 43 cents per child! Details are on the Green Team website linked above and on the bike ride are here.
